Jonathan is a proud union member, the son of a teacher and small business owner, and an advocate who has dedicated the last decade of his life to fighting for every community.
He believes there is no greater power than the power of the people, and aspires to a life in public service. 
In the last five years he has been responsible for establishing the more than twenty county, city, and state laws passed opening up contracting and economic opportunity to small business owners, including minorities, veterans, those with disabilities, and LGBTQ-owned businesses. 

In 2020 he co-created the PhillyVoting.org initiative, to expand voter registration and civic confidence in his city of Philadelphia. In Philly, Lovitz is regular organizer, mentor, and speaker for groups including: The Wharton School of Business; AmeriCorps PA; Students Demand Action PA; Philadelphia Diversity & Inclusion Summit; Liberty City Dems; and more. He is especially proud to serve on the Board of Directors of the Global Philadelphia Association and the William Way Community Center.

Jonathan is a regular guest on MSNBC, CNBC, NPR, and Bloomberg, among others, and has served as a keynote speaker for the US Dept. of Defense, Us. Dept. of Treasury, the United Nations, The Trevor Project, Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, and more. The Advocate Magazine named Lovitz a "2019 Queer Icon" alongside some of the year's top activists, artists, and political figures. 
Lovitz graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida, where he was named "Outstanding Young Alumni" in April 2018. In 2019 was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a "40 Leaders Under 40”
